Ordinary and Generalized Sheaf Cohomology

چکیده
This article is expanded from a talk given by the author in (the preliminary version of) the Student Algebraic Topology seminar in University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The rst part will be a review of ordinary sheaf cohomology which is done in such a way that generalization to generalized sheaf cohomology theory becomes automatic. The second part is a quick introduction of the approach to generalized sheaf cohomology in [6], along with fundamental results on generalized sheaf cohomology by Brown [3].

Abstract Homotopy Theory and Generalized Sheaf Cohomology
HOMOTOPY THEORY AND GENERALIZED SHEAF COHOMOLOGY BY KENNETHS. BROWN0) ABSTRACT. Cohomology groups Ha(X, E) are defined, where X is a topological space and £ is a sheaf on X with values in Kan's category of spectra. These groups generalize the ordinary cohomology groups of X with coefficients in an abelian sheaf, as well as the generalized cohomology of X in the usual sense. The groups are defin...
متن کاملDiscrete Morse Theory for Computing Cellular Sheaf Cohomology
Sheaves and sheaf cohomology are powerful tools in computational topology, greatly generalizing persistent homology. We develop an algorithm for simplifying the computation of cellular sheaf cohomology via (discrete) Morse-theoretic techniques. As a consequence, we derive efficient techniques for distributed computation of (ordinary) cohomology of a cell complex.
متن کاملOn the Associated Primes of the generalized $d$-Local Cohomology Modules
The first part of the paper is concerned to relationship between the sets of associated primes of the generalized $d$-local cohomology modules and the ordinary generalized local cohomology modules. Assume that $R$ is a commutative Noetherian local ring, $M$ and $N$ are finitely generated $R$-modules and $d, t$ are two integers. We prove that $Ass H^t_d(M,N)=bigcup_{Iin Phi} Ass H^t_I(M,N)...
متن کاملTopological representation of sheaf cohomology of sites
For a site S (with enough points), we construct a topological space X(S) and a full embedding φ of the category of sheaves on S into those on X(S) (i.e., a morphism of toposes φ: Sh(X(S)) → Sh(S)). The embedding will be shown to induce a full embedding of derived categories, hence isomorphisms H(S, A) = H∗(X(S), φ A) for any abelian sheaf A on S. As a particular case, this will give for any sch...
متن کاملAnnihilators of distributions associated with algebraic local cohomology of a hypersurface
Let f be a real-valued real analytic function in several variables. Then we associate with each algebraic local cohomology class u with support in f = 0 a distribution (generalized function) ρ(u) in terms of the residue of fλ + with respect to λ at a negative integer. Then ρ constitutes a homomorphism of modules over the sheaf of analtyic functions but not over the sheaf of differential operato...
